James L. Moffett, CFA, Lead Portfolio Manager
Chief International Strategist, Scout Investments, Inc.

James Moffett is the chief international equity strategist for Scout Investments and serves as lead portfolio manager for the Scout International Fund. Mr. Moffett developed the International Strategy and has managed the Fund since inception.

Mr. Moffett has more than 40 years of investment management experience. Prior to joining Scout, he was a portfolio manager with Commercial National Bank and worked in similar capacities for Boatmen’s Bank. His professional background also includes private investment counseling.

During his distinguished career, Moffett has received numerous accolades for his investment performance, earning national recognition from leading ratings organizations and financial publications.

Moffett earned his bachelor's degree from Harvard University and an MBA from Stanford. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the Kansas City CFA Society.

On three occassions, Mr. Moffett and his team have been nominated for Morningstar's International Manager of the Year Award.

Gary N. Anderson, CFA, Co-Portfolio Manager

Gary Anderson is a co-portfolio manager for the Scout International Fund.

Mr. Anderson has more than 13 years of investment industry experience. Prior to joining Scout in 2000, he was employed by Aventis Pharmaceuticals in drug development and treasury management. He held similar positions with ICI Americas.

Mr. Anderson earned both his bachelor’s degree and MBA from the University of Minnesota. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the Kansas City CFA Society.

Michael P. Fogarty, CFA, Co-Portfolio Manager

Michael P. Fogarty is a co-portfolio manager of the Scout International Fund. 

Mr. Fogarty is a CFA® charterholder and has more than 23 years of investment experience.  Mr. Fogarty is the Advisor’s Director of International Research.  He joined Scout in 2002, following previous employment at UniCredit Aton, Phoenix Networks, Sterling Grace Capital Management and Worldsec International. 

Mr. Fogarty earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Kansas and his MBA from the Olin School of Business at Washington University.   Mr. Fogarty is a member of the CFA Institute and Vice-President of the Kansas City CFA Society.
