Patrick Dunkerley, CFA, Lead Portfolio Manager

Patrick Dunkerley is the lead portfolio manager of the Scout Mid Cap Fund. Mr. Dunkerley has managed the Fund since inception in 2006.
 
Mr. Dunkerley has more than 17 years of investment management experience. He joined Scout in 2006, following previous employment at Victory Capital Management from 2001-2006, where he served as an assistant portfolio manager and, subsequently, a senior portfolio manager of a mid cap mutual fund and separate accounts.

Mr. Dunkerley earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri and his graduate degree from Golden Gate University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the Kansas City CFA Society.

Derek Smashey, CFA, Co-Portfolio Manager

Derek Smashey is a co-portfolio manager of the Scout Mid Cap Equity Strategy and the Scout Mid Cap Fund. He has served on the portfolio management team since both the strategy and the Fund’s inception, October 31, 2006.

Mr. Smashey has more than seven years of investment management experience. Prior to joining Scout, he was a Director at Nations Media Partners, an investment banking firm specializing in media and communications.

Mr. Smashey earned his bachelor’s degree from Northwest Missouri State University and his MBA from the University of Kansas. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the Kansas City CFA Society.

John Indellicate, CFA, Co-Portfolio Manager

Mr. Indellicate is a co-portfolio manager of the Scout Mid Cap Fund. 

Mr. Indellicate is a CFA® charterholder and has more than seven years of investment experience.  He joined Scout in 2004 and has since served as a quantitative analyst and a securities analyst. 

Mr. Indellicate earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics from Harvard University.  Mr. Indellicate is a member of the Kansas City CFA Society and the CFA Institute.
